Volunteer Award Application

United Way’s Volunteer Center is accepting nominations until Thurday, February 28 for the annual Volunteer of the Year Awards to be presented on April 23 at the Volunteer United Banquet.

Each year, local companies committed to community service and nonprofit organizations from across the area join together at this annual recognition event to celebrate volunteerism and to honor local volunteer heroes for their efforts.

To nominate an outstanding volunteer champion, complete the nomination form below.

One volunteer from our region will be recognized in each of the following categories: Community, Education, Environment, Health, National Service Volunteers (such as AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, VISTA, RSVP, etc.) and Youth Who Volunteer (ages 18 and younger).

The Volunteer Center will also recognize a local business with the Corporate Volunteer Award for its commitment to the welfare of our communities. Companies may self-submit for this award.

Nominating Criteria
Judges will evaluate nominees on the following:

• Scope of Responsibility given to volunteer
• Attitude (Positivity, Team Player, Can-Do, Enthusiasm)
• Reliability (Consistency of Service, Personal Dedication)
• Uniqueness of Service (Initiative, Creativity)
