Chairs for Charity a cushy way to give

COS Business Products & Interiors has devised a cushy way for businesses and individuals to give something back to area charities. Chairs for Charity gives part of every customer purchase to a United Way direct program or partner agency.

“This is an exciting and unique program that gives businesses and individuals a non-traditional way to give back to our community,” said 2009 Campaign Chairman Bill Wilder. “COS Business Products & Interiors is a wonderful example of how retailers can become involved in United Way’s annual campaign.”

Skip Ireland, President and CEO of COS Business Products & Interiors (COS), developed the program. He hopes other office supply companies throughout our region and across the US will follow his lead and do something similar for the United Ways in their communities. Projects like Chairs for Charity can also help United Way’s campaign during these hard economic times, when many companies have reduced workforces.

“Office chairs are a product that can be purchased by anyone at anytime, so I thought, why not turn it into an additional way for people to give back, since they’re buying the chairs anyway,” said Mr. Ireland. “We’re extending the program through December 31, so there’s plenty of time for businesses to participate and the wide range of products and prices make it attractive for everyone regardless of their budget. Plus every dollar this program generates stays right here in our local community, ensuring that our local citizens who need help the most actually get it.”

Customers can choose one of four office chairs from the Eurotech seating line: The Racer Task Chair, the 4X4 Series, the Apollo Task Chair and the Ergohuman Task Chair. COS Business Products & Interiors will then make a donation – ranging from $15 to $50 – to the customer’s selected agency partner.
